Fashion and Nature
Fashion and Nature was Lola‘s first personal clothing collection. She designed and hand-made all the items in her Sydney workshop. Lola collaborated with Sydney photographer, Dorota

Lola and Dorota
The project started in early 2018 when the costume designer and photographer talked about the beauty of Sydney’s beaches and sunshine. They both thought that using each of their skills to combine fashion and photography would create an art piece to celebrate their encounter.

Van Gogh Japonaiserie
The inspiration came from Japanese culture and Van Gogh’s Japonaiserie paintings. Lola has always been a big fan of the impressionist artist. Together with Dorota, the two agreed that the luminosity of Sydney’s sunshine in the early morning would make a picturesque scene. Following several discussions, Lola and Dorota decided to focus on casual wear and shooting at the seashores.

Japanese Cut Desgin
Lola used shiny and light-colored fabric to develop this collection. There are three items in Japonaiserie:
- Silky golden half body kimono
- Rose jogger pants
- Pearl white dress front buttoned
She also chose a pair of vintage high-heel scandals, golden necklace, and earrings matching the general color tone. With Sydney-based model, Alice, the essence of Japonaiserie, fashion and nature, were captured and emphasized in every way. The fashionable model was embedded in nature.
Shooting
The shooting took place in July 2018, Dorota paid delicate attention to various angles of sunlight on the shores. More photos are available on her photography website.
